About J. Randall Webber

About J. Randall Webber J. Randall (Randy) Webber holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Public Health. He is also a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor, and has worked in the addiction field for the past 40 years in a wide variety of positions. He began his career as a hotline director and adolescent counselor. In 1978 he became the State Prevention Coordinator for the Illinois Dangerous Drugs Commission (DDC). In the 1980s, he pioneered methods of treating cocaine dependence at Parkside/Lutheran General Medical Services, and served as the Director of their first cocaine treatment program. From 1993 until 2006, he was Director of Training and Publications at Lighthouse Institute, a nationally recognized substance abuse research center. Subsequently, he became the Director of External Training for TASC, Inc., (Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities), a non-profit organization that advocates for criminal offenders in need of drug treatment and other rehabilitative services. While at TASC, he also directed the Great Lakes Addiction Technology Transfer Center (GLATTC) Center on Criminal Justice. He is currently the Principal at JRW Behavioral Health Services and an instructor at the CADC School of the Behavioral Services Center in Skokie, IL.
Over his career, Randall has provided training across North America on such topics as street drug pharmacology, addiction science, substance abuse treatment methods, and the nexus of addiction and related issues such as domestic violence, child maltreatment and criminal justice. Working closely with businesses and schools, he has worked to develop policies and procedures for addressing the problem of substance-impaired performance. Randall  has also authored or co-authored a wide variety of papers, articles and book chapters published in both English and Spanish.
